Thailand’s City of Angels
When most people think of the City of Angels, they picture Los Angeles. Bangkok is also known by that name. As the capital of Thailand, the city has a unique charm and beauty that captivates visitors and a slower pace than most global capitals that makes it easy for tourists to relax and enjoy all the city has to offer.
Although Bangkok retains much of its traditional Thai charm, the city has evolved into a thoroughly modern metropolis. With over a thousand skyscrapers, the city has a gorgeous skyline that is easily identifiable. The five star hotels in Bangkok have all the modern conveniences and technology and the many shopping malls throughout the city carry designer labels and modern floor plans.
Some of the more interesting sites to see in Bangkok include the Grand Palace, the Ancient City, the National Gallery, and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Animal lovers will want to visit the Dusit Zoo, the aquarium at Siam Ocean World and the world-famous Crocodile Farm.
Bangkok hosts a number of large celebrations throughout the year that can make an already memorable vacation into a truly unforgettable experience. One such occasion is the Bangkok Songkran Festival in April. It is a celebration of the Thai traditional New Year.
