The Reasons for Travel in Spain
Spain has so many options for summer travel it boggles the mind. From the mainland to the surrounding islands, there are festivals and competitions and dining and experiences to be had here that can be had in no other country on the planet. From fashions shows in Madrid to the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamploma, style and excitement go hand in hand. The festivals and celebrations are often, no are required to entail feasting and dancing and parties galore. Live theater in this country is plentiful and rich, there are too many theater festivals to list, everything from outdoor amphitheaters to opera halls, from Barcelona to Catoiro, the festivals just never seem to stop and the opportunities for live shows and unforgettable performances is overwhelming. There are ritual and traditional festivals as well, as in the Festival of the Moors and Christians. Wherein entertainment meets history, and historical occurrences are acted out on stages and in the city streets. Many of the festivities have become international affairs, as in the King’s Cup Sailing Competition, wherein sailors from all over the world come for a chance to compete and partake in the challenge.
And while the mainland has much to offer, one must not overlook the chain of islands just off the coast in the Mediterranean Sea. One such island that has been quite a draw over time is the island of Ibiza. Long known for the club and night life reputation, this island holds many of the festivals and jamborees, on the beaches and the luxury Ibiza hotels, tourists can be seen partying and dancing the night away. Then either relaxing on one of the many white sand beaches in the afternoons. Scuba diving is popular here as the clear pristine water makes for a perfect backdrop for witnessing some of the awesome marine life. The dedication to preserving the ecosystem here, creates an underwater world that is vibrant and swimming with life. Wind surfing and para-sailing are also popular vacation pastimes, as it is all so peaceful and beautiful and is such a perfect way to view the island in a different way. From what was once the poorest region of Spain, these little islands have become buzzing with life and economic success, and some of the most incredible places for relaxing, and exciting vacation getaways.
