Daniel Jones Born in Southend
Daniel Jones is an English musician, music producer and songwriter who was born in 1973 in Southend, England. Though he has achieved much success in various aspects of the music industry, he is probably best known for his work in the popular band Savage Garden. Though Jones was born in Southend, his family moved to Australia when he was just a baby. It was from there that the duo oriented Savage Garden was formed. Tourists staying in a Southend hotel may not be aware that Jones was born in there, though they are more than likely to be aware of his music.
Jones was involved in music from his early childhood. It played a major role with his family and he demonstrated the same talent his brothers had already shown early on. By the time Jones was in high school, he knew he wanted to pursue music as a career and he left school before graduating to follow his dreams. When he was around the age of 18 he had been part of the formation of a band called Red Edge. The band needed a lead singer and Darren Hayes responded to an ad they had placed and he got the job. This was the early introduction to the duo that would soon become dissatisfied with Red Edge and form Savage Garden to pursue their own music and establish their unique sound.
Savage Garden achieved critical and commercial success and produced some hit singles. Some of these include Truly Madly Deeply, Crash and Burn, I knew I loved You and I Want You. However, despite their talent and success, the duo broke up in 2001, at which point Jones decided to pursue a solo career. He soon established his own music production company, Meridien Music as well as the recording studio called Level 7 Studios. He works as a producer and is interesting in helping the development of young Austrian performers.
