It’s difficult to top Seattle in terms of independent film culture. It’s had a lively following since the inception of the form, and some could reasonably argue that there are some film buffs here who anticipated the form well before it was established. This makes the city distinguished not only as a place that offers the best in alternative cultural forms, but is also welcoming to those looking for splendid times in the luxury hotels Seattle offers. It is an eclectic and exciting place, and innovations continue to develop in front of a savvy population.

The past has also been a place of great innovation, and Seattle’s Harvard Exit was always ahead of its time. In the 20s, it showed exclusive films, paving the way for the independent cinema it now specializes in. The building itself has also played host to some important, or at least fascinating, moments in history. It’s old enough to have some interesting spirits that haunt the movie house , although the out of town guests are usually not privy to the sightings. However, the people who work there have reported several different kinds of ghosts, old men and young women, and they all seem to love movies as much as the living. One of the projectionists came into work one day to find that a film was already showing to an apparently empty house.
