One occasion was particularly memorable.� It had not rained in the greater LA area for months.� Dust and sand had collected on my windshield, but it was not a problem, until it started to rain.� I had to get from VanNuys to Pasadena in forty five minutes, and I could not see a thing, as it started to rain, and the rain combined with the sand, and made mud on my windshield.� I turned on my wipers, and they fell apart.� Now, if you have ever driven in LA traffic, being able to have clear visibility is a must, aside from the nerves of steel.

I hadn’t kept up on my car maintenance, I hadn’t paid attention to the small engine repair manuals and the advice given in those manuals.� So I went to the nearest Auto Zone, on the corner of Victory Blvd. and Burbank.� They sold me the replacement blades, and usually they would have had time to help me with the installation of those blades, but they were busy. Everyone had pulled in to buy blades.

Working on cars is something that most men love doing. My husband loves working on cars, trucks and motorcycles. He searches and searches for the right parts at the right prices. Last year he spent a good ten hours looking for discount tires. He only made the purchase because I told him he had to come home and mow the lawn.

The next weekend he went all over until he found rims for sale and for a price he liked. Both purchases were made at Performance Plus Tire. They always have the highest quality tires and rims for the best prices. My hubby just has to waste his time to feel like he did the best he could.

He is going to their store soon because they are selling tire and wheel packages. That way he won’t spend as much time as usual and he’ll still save us a lot of money. I love that he bargain shops but I don’t like that he wastes his time. I always say to go to PPT. I bet he’ll start listening to me sooner or later.

Cherry Red ’66 Mustang with Rims Helps Remind of Father

Growing up, my dad always took me to car shows with him. I loved it so much. I got my dad to myself and I always got to see really cool cars. I like ’66 Mustangs the best, I think. They look really great with car rims and cherry red paint jobs. Now, when I see a Mustang like that, I am immediately back at the car shows with my dad. I believe that’s called a Proustian Moment.

But my favorite thing to see on those cars is custom rims and tires. In fact, 26 rims look great on them. I really think that all cars could use a few accessories like that to increase the value and give them some flair. And they don’t even have to be cherry red. They can be black or a nice blue color too. I just like cherry red the best.

And though I’m an adult now and my dad is gone, I have such great memories of spending weekends with him at those car shows. He was such a great father and a family man in his soul. His love for cars was unique too. Not that a lot of people don’t love cars, he could just see the beauty in small things like rims. I think that’s what sets him apart.
