It all started with a little bit of green living.Recycling more, filling up an aluminum water bottle instead of buying up new ones. And then it turned into eco-tourism. And the trend is taking over the entire map of the world.

Now there is the International Eco-tourism Society, or TIES, which puts all of the resources in one great place on their website.

Here is a little more information about eco-tourism, questions answered.

What is eco-tourism?

According to TIES, their definition is:

�”Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people.” (TIES, 1990)

TIES also provide the principles of Eco-tourism on their website. The principles are:

* Minimize impact.
* Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect.
* Provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts.
* Provide direct financial benefits for conservation.
* Provide financial benefits and empowerment for local people.
* Raise sensitivity to host countries’ political, environmental, and social climate.

Where is eco-tourism available?

Eco-tourism is available on the entire map of the world, including the Unites States in places like the Florida Keys and more exotic places like Brazil.

The upcoming Hong Kong Sevens Tournament promises to a hot ticket for not only rugby fans, but anyone who enjoys a good sports spectacle. Organized by the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union the tournament is scheduled for March 27 -29th at Hong Kong Stadium.

Sevens rugby has been played in Hong Kong for over thirty years. The first Hong Kong Sevens Tournament was held in March 1976. The growth of the sport was so incredible that the Hong Kong Stadium had to be rebuilt in 1994 to make room for the massive crowds drawn to the event.

After the Rugby World Cup Sevens Tournament debuted in Scotland in 1993, Hong Kong was granted the honor of hosting the 2nd World Cup in 1997. In 2000 the iRB created the World Sevens Series “to enable more players to benefit from Sevens competitions.” The Series brings together 10 to 12 of the top teams in the world to compete in tournaments in Asia, Europe, Australia, South America, South Africa, New Zealand, and Dubai.

TThe Hong Kong Sevens will feature 24 teams from around the world including current points leaders South Africa and England (tied at 60 points) as well as perpetual winner New Zealand.

The Women’s tournament will be held on Friday at the Hong Kong Football Club. Their final will be played at the Hong Kong Stadium. The Cup and Bowl champions from the Dubai tournament (Australia and China) are expected to battle it out in Hong Kong. With three of the Ruby World Cup Sevens finalists competing in the tournament, Asia may have a team in the final for the first time since the event began 12 years ago.

The 2009 IRB Sevens Series started with Dubai in November 2008. The next World Sevens Series tournament will be held in Australia on April 4-5, 2009.

The Reasons for Travel in Spain

Spain has so many options for summer travel it boggles the mind. From the mainland to the surrounding islands, there are festivals and competitions and dining and experiences to be had here that can be had in no other country on the planet. From fashions shows in Madrid to the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamploma, style and excitement go hand in hand. The festivals and celebrations are often, no are required to entail feasting and dancing and parties galore. Live theater in this country is plentiful and rich, there are too many theater festivals to list, everything from outdoor amphitheaters to opera halls, from Barcelona to Catoiro, the festivals just never seem to stop and the opportunities for live shows and unforgettable performances is overwhelming. There are ritual and traditional festivals as well, as in the Festival of the Moors and Christians. Wherein entertainment meets history, and historical occurrences are acted out on stages and in the city streets. Many of the festivities have become international affairs, as in the King’s Cup Sailing Competition, wherein sailors from all over the world come for a chance to compete and partake in the challenge.

And while the mainland has much to offer, one must not overlook the chain of islands just off the coast in the Mediterranean Sea. One such island that has been quite a draw over time is the island of Ibiza. Long known for the club and night life reputation, this island holds many of the festivals and jamborees, on the beaches and the luxury Ibiza hotels, tourists can be seen partying and dancing the night away. Then either relaxing on one of the many white sand beaches in the afternoons. Scuba diving is popular here as the clear pristine water makes for a perfect backdrop for witnessing some of the awesome marine life. The dedication to preserving the ecosystem here, creates an underwater world that is vibrant and swimming with life. Wind surfing and para-sailing are also popular vacation pastimes, as it is all so peaceful and beautiful and is such a perfect way to view the island in a different way. From what was once the poorest region of Spain, these little islands have become buzzing with life and economic success, and some of the most incredible places for relaxing, and exciting vacation getaways.

Car Modifications even the Kids Would Love

Over the holiday weekend, I was spending some time with family and my cousin�s two sons were just crazy about cars the whole time. Soon, I found out why � they are really into the Disney Cars movie. I was a little surprised, because it�s been out for a while. (Aren�t kids today supposed to jump from one fad to another at lightning speed?) After watching the flick with them, I could see why it�s still their favorite: it showcases the glamour of cars � everything from revving up an engine to the shine of chrome – but it also humanizes the cars, turning them into such loveable characters. The creativity of it all even made me feel some appreciation toward my cars that I haven�t felt in a while (mostly due to being robbed at the pump these days).

Over dinner that night, we were joking that I should buy whitewall tires for my convertible. Of course, the kids insisted that although it would be an improvement, nothing could make it look as cool as a Ferrari (Yes, the movie has effectively brainwashed them into becoming Ferrari fans � ah, the power of product placement). The funniest thing about this whole story is that now I�m really looking into getting a new paint job and maybe even some custom wheels. This amazing selection of grant steering wheels also caught my eye. The car bug (no pun intended) seems to have bitten me, too.

Wimbledon Highlights When You Can’t Watch It

I love the catch the Wimbledon highlights on the evening news when I miss a match. Wimbledon is my favorite of the Grand Slam series because they play tennis on grass courts. I think that it shows real athleticism to be able to serve off of grass and to run when it feels differently than the courts the athletes are used to.

Last year Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal played an exhibition game on a half grass, half clay court. They did this to have and to see who was better when the playing field was more even. Federer is called the grass-court king and Nadal is called the clay-court king. These two athletes just wanted to have a little fun.

Since Wimbledon is a grass court I think that Federer will win again. I can’t wait to watch the matches this year. So many people enter and then it’s down to just two.

Maps, Travel Journal and Photos Make Interesting Story

I love to travel and I’m always prepared. I acquire maps to the places that I want to visit before I go so that I can become familiar with the way their roads work. Right now I have a map of Japan, 2 maps of Mexico and a map of Canada. As I travel around these countries, I use my maps to make sure I know where I’m going.

They get a lot of wear and tear but it makes for an interesting story. I come home from my trip and I retire the maps to my collection. Sometimes I’ll hang the retired map on the wall of my study so that I can retrace my steps and add any additional details that I might have left out of my traveling journal.

I combine the journal entries with the map and pictures that I took to compile a nice little story to share with my grandkids. They seem to like hearing about all of the places I’ve been to and they hallways ask me to take them with me sometime. I think that in the future they will love having the mementos of my adventure.

Organizational Development Keeps Employees Happy

Organizational development can really fine-tune your employees. I needed to increase productivity after a stale second quarter. I wasn’t sure how to go about getting my team of Wall Street men to enter into a leadership development course and sales training courses. But once they all went, they came back with uplifted spirits.

They seemed to benefit for several reasons. The skills they learned will help them with any job they may have in the future and they got to spend a day doing that instead of their usual jobs. It seems like just a change of pace can do a lot for my troops. Anyway, they started to apply their new skills and productivity increased. I feel like this is something they should do every few months or so.

I’ve noticed that when my employees are happy, sales increase and they use fewer sick days. I think they like it because the skills they learn can be applied to their personal relationships and they can use it at this job and any future job they may have. I think it’s team building exercises like these that keep them around longer.

Car Rims Add Value

I needed good but cheap car tires so I did a search for Cooper Tires online. I found a huge selection. I went through all of the choices and then I decided on my selection. I also found a whole world of custom chrome wheels. I never knew there was such a selection and they range in price so much so that even I could afford to get some.

You wouldn’t believe the difference car rims can make on even a new car like mine. I just never understood the difference between custom and stock. Now I know how much more value these add to my car and I don’t think that I can stay with the stock options again.

The next thing that I would like to do is get a new CD player. I have the one that came in my car but I really want a new one with better options and more functions. I think I’ll have to research those and then I’ll continue to fix my car up.
